People lab was started in 2018 as an idea that the world needed different types of executives and managers. The hierarchical ‘command and control’ model where a leader is charismatic and authoritarian is over. What’s coming is people first leadership. Meeting your employees where they are. We work with people and organizations to help them create workplaces filled with people and teams who understand their impact and their potential. Andria Gillis the founder of People Lab has 20+ years of executive and management experience in retail and healthcare operations. Her extensive training and experience as an executive, leadership and systemic coach grounds people in the emerging neuroscience and thinking around creating better systems to allow people to thrive.

While People Lab is still a small company our vision is not. By developing teams, employees and leaders who are self aware we expect our clients can change the world.

People Lab Canada is located in the ancestral and traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabe (ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᒃ) and the Huron-Wendat, in Treaty 13 (Toronto Purchase) territory.

Andria Gillis, People Lab Founder and Head Coach, has a background rooted in leadership and entrepreneurship. Before transitioning to professional coaching, Andria worked in various leadership capacities in North American outdoor and healthcare retail industries.

Throughout her career, she has focused on creating people-first organizations and systems. As the rate of change continues to evolve, it becomes increasingly clear that the need for cognitively agile leaders and organizations who thrive in complexity is the crucial work required.

She approaches coaching with a solution-focused approach, based on applied neuroscience, systemic thinking, and being. She has a deep appreciation for the diversity of worldviews and perspectives that shape not only her work but her clients.

Andria has worked actively with leaders and teams in startups, non-profit organizations, and founder-led and Fortune 500 companies. Her approach has garnered collaborations with teams and leaders in healthcare, technology, and media organizations. She is passionate about her work to support non-profits to build capacity and capability to deepen impact.

She lives in Toronto, Canada which, for thousands of years has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit.
