People Lab Panel # 1: Kindness and Compassion Recap.
On April 4th, People Lab hosted our first panel.
I believe that there are important conversations to be having about what the leadership of the future should look like. I’ve chosen to facilitate those conversations with a series of panels with inspiring people.
The panel was awesome. Thank you to Sadia, our moderator, the panelists, Sean, Rudy, Michelle and Anil. As well as every single one of you who came out to support People Lab and it’s launch!
The thank you’s don’t stop there! Thank you to Australian Boot Company for donating a pair of Blundstone boots! (Congrats to our winner: Christine!). Thank you to Andy Forest for live tweeting, Thank you to Mark Kim for taking photos! Thank you to Cakegram for the amazing cake, and especially thank you to WeWork our community partner for hosting the event in their awesome space!
Our panelists started a conversation that is continuing long after the panel ended. It’s been so great to engage with the people who were there about the topic and hear stories about their experience with leadership.
One person at the event emailed after and said” I'm so very impressed with what you've created - professional, relevant and sincere (as well as much-needed). I shuddered to remember the corporate culture that I fled and was encouraged to know there are good people out there working to change all that is broken and bad.”
Below are some of the hightlights:
Sean McSweeney spoke about his influences his experience leading a group of 150 people and helping the people who worked for him to be better leaders.
Rudy Ruttiman shared her powerful journey to leadership at SKETCH and her powerful method of making people feel welcome and to understand the culture and expectations of working with SKETCH
Michelle Krasny reflected on how do we can be kind and compassionate to ourselves.
Anil Kanji, Director of Digital Engagement at Mozilla, had so many great insights to share about leading with kindness and compassion.
Thank you again to everyone who came out and supported People Lab and our first panel!
I’m excited to announce the second panel! June 6th with our community partner WeWork again! The topic is Resiliency and Adaptability as essential tools for leadership. You can reserve your spot here!
