Three Years!

Three years ago today I started People Lab with a strong conviction that Kindness and Compassion were integral powerful skills in the world of work, and a powerful way to bring that into organizations was through coaching. Three years on, it’s been proven over and over again.

The first year of People Lab was incredible - so many new connections and growth. In 2019 People Lab Panels brought together a diverse group of experts in their field to talk about kindness, compassion, authenticity and resiliency. I coached many incredible individuals in many interesting and challenging roles.

For the second and third years of People Lab, we co-existed with the Pandemic. At the beginning, I brainstormed with my team on ways to pivot (remember that word?!!) so we could continue the growth, and then reality hit me. I did not have the bandwidth. I’m a solo mother of a then 6-year-old with a new business, and all the challenges that we all faced during those early days of the pandemic led me to decide not to pursue growth of People Lab and focus on delivering my best work to my existing clients and word of mouth new clients while navigating homeschooling. I am so grateful for the community that surrounds People Lab and me.

Here’s what I’m excited about for year 4 of People Lab. I’m diving deep into the future of work and what is required. Over the last two years I’ve been thinking a lot about the systemic barriers that individuals experience, I’m thinking about the ever increasing rate of change. I’m digging deeper into Team Coaching. Supporting leaders to build high functioning, high value teams and working with teams directly to be purpose led and more valuable than the sum of their parts. I’m digging deep into the research in this area and developing People Lab’s approach to team coaching. As I continue to support my existing and new clients to develop the powerful leadership skills they need, supporting them to look at the systems and stakeholders that surround them.

I’m so excited for what’s next! Reach out if any of the above has you curious and wanting to hear more!
